MONICA BOOTCHECK
Monica
received her accreditation in Interior Design from UCLA. In her
work as a furniture showroom buyer she developed a deep passion
for textiles that evolved into manufacturing her own custom draperies.
Based out of Santa Barbara for the past 15 years with her own
interior design business named Insight Interiors, Monica collaborated
with Tom Stimpert on a number of projects, both in Southern California
and Marin County. Her goal in decorating the inn was to present
a relaxed "cottage style" that she grew up with in
Indiana.
Monica's husband, Larry Williams, has an
extensive background in restaurant design with his business,
Details Foodservice Design. His ten years of experience and specialized
training in kitchen design extend into restaurant management,
food operations/production, equipment sales and project management.
His business projects have dovetailed with those of his wife,
as well as Tom Stimpert. Monica used Larry as the advisor for
the final decisions on many of the colors and fabrics of each
cottage. The cottages were built in such as was as to have little
impact on the grove of elm trees. When the utility trenches were
put in place, Larry painstakingly pruned the smaller roots of
the trees to avoid harmful root infection. Larry enjoys the hands
on fix-it type of work so necessary for the smooth operation
of a country inn. |
